PRESS RELEASE
7 October 2009
BUSINESS LINK TEAM FOLLOW OWN ADVICE
A team of Business Link in Kent employees had to draw on their own advice regarding teamwork and facing challenges in order to complete the Leeds Castle 10K run in support of Cancer Research UK.
The team, which consisted of Tony Logan, Peter Green, Jane Ollis, Jane Stevens, Barry Charlton, Valerie Pondaven and Jason Martin all completed the race, with Peter Green and Tony Logan finishing in times of just under 49 minutes.
Tony Logan, Adviser Manager for Business Link in Kent, said: “I have run the race for the last four years in memory of my late father who I lost to lung cancer in September 2000. However, this is the first year there has been a Business Link in Kent team and it was interesting to train as a group, with people of differing abilities.
“We found it was very to important draw on what we teach businesses regarding team work and positive thinking, and despite the course being harder this year, I think this contributed to the good results the whole team achieved.
So far the team have raised £450 and, four of the original team have signed up to do another 10K run in Ashford.
